On June 27, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, was a great joy throughout the Institute. In all the apostolates, this Feast was celebrated with much faith, joy and creativity. In the Generalate in Rome, the General Council and its employees celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving and shared lunch together.
The Feast of the Sacred Heart was also celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm in the various shrines dedicated to Mother Cabrini in the United States. It was an opportunity to come together as a Cabrinian community around the center of our charism, the Heart of Jesus.
At the Cabrini School in Madrid they also celebrated, organizing a twinning between the pupils of the kindergarten, primary and secondary schools. It was a moment of encounter, affection and togetherness, in which the older ones accompanied the younger ones with tenderness, sharing games and reflections on the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This experience reminded them of the infinite love of Jesus and invited them to live with a generous heart and openness to others. As every year, in all the religious communities of the Institute, the MSCs renewed their vows and entrusted their lives and their vocation to the Heart of Jesus. In the Province of Santa Francesca Cabrini there were three masses in the Mother Cabrini School in preparation for the party, a celebration at the Regina Coeli School in Rio Pomba and prayer and sharing also at the Boni Consilii School in São Paulo. In the Holy Spirit Region, the celebration of the Feast of the Sacred Heart was a lively and spiritually enriching experience. Each mission of the Region participated with enthusiasm, joining millions of people around the world who celebrate this Sacred Anniversary. At the heart of every celebration was Holy Mass. Our sisters joined the congregations gathered in the churches near their communities, filling them with warmth and the spirit of devotion. In Russia, a Mass was celebrated about three weeks after the installation of the new painting dedicated to the Sacred Heart at the Cathedral of Novosibirsk, and a Eucharistic Adoration for this very occasion. In Nicaragua, at the Sagrada Familia School No. 1, a celebration was held for the Sacred Heart and for the Festival of teachers. On June 30, all the MSC sisters connected to meet via Zoom on the occasion of the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and to begin the preparation for the Jubilee of Consecrated Life and the Cabrini Global Assembly, which will be held next October. Sr. Maria Barbagallo, MSC and Sr. Clara Malo, RSCJ participated. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus illuminate all of us and accompany us on this journey of preparation.
